When glue, a polymer, mixes with an activator, a cross-linking agent, the long molecular chains in the glue connect and form a new material. This material behaves like both a liquid and a solid. That is the stretch you feel when you pull slime slowly, and the snap when you pull it fast. It is called a non-Newtonian fluid, and it is genuinely fascinating.

Pull your slime slowly; it stretches. Pull it fast; it snaps. This demonstrates how the material responds differently to different forces.

Try warming slime in your hands and notice how the texture changes. Add different amounts of activator and observe how the consistency shifts. Each of these is a real, observable science experiment.
